Postdoctoral Researcher in Psycholinguistics and Incidental Language Learning (STATMIND Project)

The Department of Experimental Psychology (BogaertsLab) at Ghent University is offering a 2-year, full-time Postdoctoral position within the FWO-funded project STATMIND (Growing a Statistical Mind), supervised by Prof. Dr. Louisa Bogaerts. The project is conducted in close collaboration with the University of Pavia.
STATMIND investigates the dynamic interplay between prior linguistic knowledge and the incidental learning of new language patterns. The research combines behavioral experiments and electroencephalography (EEG) data collected from both adults and children. Candidates must hold a PhD in psychology, psycholinguistics, or cognitive neuroscience, with solid programming and quantitative analysis skills (R, Python, or Matlab).

Postdoctoral Researcher in Interpersonal Emotional Processes & Quantitative Psychology

The project investigates how emotions unfold, are shaped, and are regulated within interpersonal relationships, as well as how interpersonal dysregulation contributes to mental health conditions like mood disorders.

Postdoctoral Researcher in Developmental Psychology (LifeCraft Project)

The Department of Developmental, Personality, and Social Psychology at Ghent University is seeking a part-time Postdoctoral Researcher (40% FTE, 15-month contract) for an FWO-funded project focusing on “need crafting” among pre-adolescents (grades 4–6). Need crafting is a construct within Self-Determination Theory (SDT) that captures an individual’s proactive capacity to fulfill their basic psychological needs for autonomy, relatedness, and competence.
The project utilizes LifeCraft, a digital mental health intervention developed to foster well-being. The successful candidate will coordinate research activities in primary schools, analyze quantitative longitudinal data, and help optimize the intervention contextually. Proficiency in Dutch is highly recommended to support data collection in Flemish schools.

The project focuses on creating, evaluating, and scaling an evidence-based, co-created mental health promotion and prevention toolbox within education and workplace settings across seven European countries.
